2008 STAFF POSITIONS AT AMNICON



GUIDE/COUNSELOR
8 positions
Compensation for 2006: $220 - $230 per week,
Dates: May 30- August 16
Certifications required: American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid or Equivalent
Job Outline:

  • Guides will have an opportunity to lead a variety of trips, (Montreal canoeing, White water canoeing, Flat water canoeing, Backpacking) in addition to on-site rotations (both program and maintenance).
  • Guides may lead trips alone or in teams of two, with groups of 7–14 campers, Jr. or Sr. High school age.
  • Responsibilities include: teaching canoeing, hiking, camping and cooking skills; leading devotions, leading campfire programs, maintain environmental and safety standards, being a caring and encouraging role model.
  • Counselors will assist with in camp duties when not on the trails as directed by the directors.



DRIVER/MAINTENANCE
2 positions
Compensation: Varies depending on experience and whether or not driver lives off site.
Dates: June 8- August 16
Certifications desired but not required (same as above listed for the guides)
Comfort level with van driving trailer pulling and backing desired but not required.
Understanding of basic car care desired.
Job Outline:

  • Supervise site maintenance and repairs at the camp
  • General vehicle maintenance
  • Driving the camp vehicles for camper transport and errands
  • Assist guides on trips on a fill in basis



TRAILS COORDINATOR
1 position
Compensation: $220-$230 per week
Dates: May 30 - August 16
Familiarity with trails equipment, trails food packout and menu planning
Certifications Required (same as above listed for the guides)
Job Outline:

  • Prepare packout menus and food orders
  • Pack out trails food for the trips
  • Keep trail food and equipment inventory updated
  • Repair trails equipment as possible
  • Manage all camp store sales and records
  • Co-lead trips with another guide as needed on a fill in basis
  • Assist with in-camp duties as required



OPERATIONS RESOURCE
2 Positions
Compensation: $190 per week
Dates: June 8 - August 16
Comfortable with physical work & food prep and flexible
Job Outline:

  • Trails food packout
  • Light housekeeping
  • Groundskeeping, trails work & light maintenance tasks
  • Assist with meal prep and baking
  • Assist with program responsibilities as directed
  • Assist with other in camp duties as directed
